Music:

In order to compete at most events, you’ll need to purchase licensed music. I’m no expert at this, but there are some popular vendors in the cheer music space. A quick google or post in our group to find your recommendations would do the trick. (I prefer CheerSounds, because their customer service is exactly what I like out of a company, and they’re huge supporters of NG conferences!) Cheer music can be super affordable for pre-made mixes or very expensive for custom mixes with voiceovers. Always stick to your budget on music and remember, while great music can really amp up your athletes, the music itself isn’t being judged. For competitions, you’ll need to make sure you have music licenses uploaded to the system in advance or paper copies with you. This can only come from the music producer themselves and can be included in the cost of your mix or cost extra.

You’ll also want to download the music onto the phone or iPod. Not every venue has good cell service, and you don’t want to be without music because 3,000 people are scrolling Facebook while you’re trying to play music.
