My favorite part about these blogs and emails is getting your replies. I love hearing from owners around the world who want to get all the knowledge they can to improve their businesses. The problem is – knowledge isn’t enough.

So many owners are consuming all the knowledge and studying business through the free resources online. So few of them are actually taking action and taking the leap of faith required to see results.

Imagine having a kid you’re working with on a back handspring. The athlete watches all the youtube videos, reads the key points of a back handspring, reads about technique and watches the drills over and over all day. Do you think that athlete will go out there and get a handspring on the first try? What about the second? The third? Regardless of how much knowledge an athlete has, it’s unlikely he or she will get a handspring on their own without a coach.

Once that athlete begins working with a coach, there is still a period of time where the coach will essentially prescribe drills and troubleshoot the athlete’s form. The athlete will likely need to go home, work on drills and do homework and then return for the next private lesson a few weeks later. If the athlete goes home and just continues to study, he or she is going to come back to that private lesson no stronger or more technically close to a handspring than before, right?

So it goes with business coaching. If you’re reading the blogs and consuming all the free content you can, that’s the first step. That will take you a little ways if you’re a true go-getter. But knowledge alone isn’t powerful enough. You aren’t a unicorn! You need someone who will also hold you accountable. You need someone who will get to know you and hear it in your voice when you’re exhausted. Every owner deserves someone who is invested in their business and thinking about their gyms from time to time. When I hear an idea that I think would benefit Jess in Albany, I send it her way the same way I would if it were Christine in Colorado.

The Next Gen Academy has been working hard behind the scenes at improving our program to ensure our clients are getting the absolute best from each of us. Our focus on one-on-one coaching calls is already starting to make a drastic difference in the lives of our clients. If you’ve considered business coaching for a bit, now is the time. Now is your time to grow your gym, develop athletes who want to stay long-term, create a staff with a positive and uplifting culture, and take care of your own family through a fair paycheck at your gym.

I don’t do this often in my emails or blogs (because I’m here to inform), but if any of this resonated with you, I’m going to encourage you to click the link below. Book a call with Justin and let’s see what the Next Gen Academy can do for you!
