“Don’t be too impressed with goal-setting; be impressed with goal getting,” – John Maxwell
Isn’t that the truth?!?How many times do we set out to create goals, and within a week or so, we’re already off track? It happens more often than you’d think. In fact, a lot of gym owners I talk to set goals! Most new Academy members say, “I regularly set goals, but I don’t always achieve them.”

Who sees the biggest change in their gyms and growth in themselves as a leader though? I can tell you! The people who regularly set goals and then ask for accountability. The people who say, “Hey, I really want to do this, but I know myself well enough. I need you to check in on me in a few weeks.”

Why does that work?

Most people won’t do something great just for themselves. We will do it for someone else though. Accountability works because we want to make others proud of us – and we want to be proud of ourselves. Accountability works when you have someone who is looking out for you even when you’re not necessarily looking out for yourself.

So, what will you do today? Will you goal set or will you goal get?
